The most popular split entrée choices at
The Georgetown Club tend to be chicken
and beef, according to Andrews. To accommodate this trend, The Georgetown Club
offers two split entrée options featuring
these high-demand items. Their “Perfect
Pair” dish features a petit Filet Mignon
accompanied by a delectable Chicken
Oscar, while “The Georgetown Signature
Duo” serves up sliced Tenderloin of Beef
alongside Chicken Picatta.
Michelle Pillsbury, Sales Coordinator for
the Mountain Club on Loon, (603) 745-
2244, notes that while the most common
choice for split entrées at their venue has
been beef and salmon, there has also been
a rise in vegetarian options. “We have
seen numerous weddings come through
that have special dietary and allergy needs
and need specific modifications,” she
says. Couples opt for split entrées because
they make it easier to cater to everyone’s
dietary needs. Michelle encourages brides
to work with their chef to find a menu
that will please everyone; “Our Chef is
very accommodating in dealing with very
specific needs,” she says.
The Mountain Club on Loon hosts the
hors d’oeuvres for the cocktail reception,
and the bride and groom can enjoy complimentary beverages throughout the
evening—a well earned treat after all the
difficulties of planning have finally come
to an end. As an added bonus, Pillsbury
mentions that “we also offer a complimentary one night stay on the couple’s
five year anniversary,” a package that
comes with Swedish massages for two.

THE TIMES THEY ARE
A-CHANGING
One last trend that Pillsbury notes is that
she is working with more and more
grooms rather than brides. “In five out of
ten weddings we deal with grooms,” she
confides. “They are very detail oriented
and know their PDF’s from the BEO’s.”
Allowing the groom to handle the menu,
with the aid of the wedding planner,
frees the bride to manage other aspects
of the wedding.
So, mix it up with two taste choices
that are sure to delight everyone’s palate,
and maybe even take yourself out for a
manicure while your groom handles the
menu—with a split entrée and the expert
help of people like Andrews and Pillsbury,
he really can’t go wrong.
